Everything Must Change

I remember watching Friedman and Hammerstein's Cinderella when I was in third grade...and maybe till I was 18. There's a song that Cinderella (played by Brandy Norwood) and her Prince sing that I still catch myself expressing from time to time. It goes something like, "Do I love you because you're beautiful, or are you beautiful because I love you?"

In my opinion, that is a rather mature question. Something you think about when you're high, or distraught. It seems clear to me that love is a lens that makes everything more bearable/helps us to see the beauty where we might not necessarily have seen it before. Cause once the love is gone (or you're down from your high), you wonder what you "saw" in that "special someone" in the first place.
